Südstaaten-Blues

Trayvon Martin – Wikipedia
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trayvon_Martin#Stand-your-ground-Gesetz

Trayvon Martin (* 5. Februar 1995; † 26.

verdächtiges Verhalten des Jugendlichen: This guy looks like he is up to no
good. He is on drugs or something.
Polizei wies ihn daraufhin an, dies zu lassen: We don’t need you to do that

weitreichende Selbstverteidigungsrecht („Stand-your-ground law“ –

“When the Sanford Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident, Mr.
Zimmerman provided a statement claiming he acted in self-defense which at the
time was supported by physical evidence and testimony.”
“By Florida Statute, law enforcement was PROHIBITED from making an arrest based
of the facts and circumstances they had at the time.”

Gesetzeskraft erlangt hatte, keine Handhabe gegen Zimmerman.

An

2012 - sieben Jahre später - bereits in weiteren 25 Bundesstaaten eingeführt

In diesem
Demonstranten in Washington, New York, Chicago und Tampa gegen rassistische
Tendenzen in den USA. Viele Demonstranten traten dabei ostentativ in

wortgewaltiger Prediger aus New York. Viel zitiert wird sein Satz
“We can put a black man in the White House but we cannot walk a black child
through a gated neighbourhood.”

(911-Call-Center) an.

manipulieren" - so Richter Kenneth Lester.
(100.000 Dollar) musste Zimmerman hinterlegen. [...]
Im Oktober 2012 wurde der Gerichtstermin auf den 10. Juni 2013 festgelegt.

Perry bezeichnete Präsident Obama als "a member of the left", ein "Mitglied der Linken".

ALEC

Die Lobby-Gruppe ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) sponserte das “Stand-Your-Ground” Gesetz, wonach es zunaechst kein Gerichtsverfahren zur Aufklaerung der Toetung von Trayvon Martin geben sollte.

Exposed: The Corporations Behind the Law That May Let Trayvon Martin's Killer Go Free
Here's what we know about the groups that help fund ALEC, the organization that drafted the law that keeps Trayvon Martin’s killer free.Suzanne Merkelson, March 23, 2012 It’s been widely reported today that the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the shadowy corporate front group that unites state lawmakers with corporations to pass state laws favorable to corporate interests, helped pass the law that might allow Trayvon Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman, to escape prosecution. Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” […] is just one of many state laws that is nearly identical to ALEC’s model Castle Doctrine Act. The Florida senator who introduced the law, Durell Peadon, was also a member of ALEC. The law passed in 2005.According to the Center for Media and Democracy, 98 percent of ALEC’s revenues come from corporations, corporate trade groups, and corporate foundations. Each member pays annual fees of between $7,000 and $25,000. ALEC is also supplemented by direct grants. We don’t know all the details about all of ALEC’s funders and members. Here’s a partial list of what we do know about the corporations and foundations who helped fund the group that drafted the law that keeps Trayvon Martin’s killer free — and put more guns on our streets:ALEC received $1.4 million in grants from ExxonMobil from 1998-2009.It has also received grants from two Koch family-backed foundations: Charles G. Koch Foundation, the Claude R. Lambe Foundation.ALEC has received grant money from the billionaire conservative and American Spectator publisher Richard Mellon Scaife‘s Allegheny Foundation and the Coors family’s Castle Rock Foundation.ALEC’s Private Enterprise Board members include executives from Bayer Corp., GlaxoSmithKline, Centerpoint360, Reynolds American, Wal-Mart Stores, Johnson & Johnson, PhRMA, American Bail Coalition, Kraft Foods, Inc., Pfizer Inc., DIAGEO, AT&T, Reed Elsevier, Inc., Peabody Energy, UPS, Koch Companies Public Sector, LLC, Altria Client Services, ExxonMobil, Salt River Project, and State Farm Insurance Co. Coca Cola also recently had an executive on ALEC’s board.According to reporting by my colleague, Lee Fang, ALEC’s 38th Annual Meeting was funded by corporations including BP, Takeda Pharmaceutical, Allergan, Altria, Bayer, Chevron, Peabody, Shell, UnitedHealthcare, Visa, FedEx, Louisiana Seafood, UPS, Amazon.com, Chesapeake Energy, ConocoPhillips, Dow, Gulf States Toyota, International Paper, TimeWarner, Wellpoint, HP, Lilly, Merck, USAA, and Walgreens (the full list available here). The first item in ALEC’s mission statement is:… to advance the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism, and individual liberty, through a nonpartisan public-private partnership of America’s state legislators, members of the private sector, the federal government, and general public.Individual liberty is one thing when it comes to protecting your home or your children. It’s quite another when it means gunning down a teenager armed only with Skittles in his father’s neighborhood. ALEC is the same group behind laws that harm workers, health, and safety, and behind the “Voter ID” law that makes it harder for low-income people, communities of color, the disabled and elderly, and others to vote. Now we know ALEC wrote the law that might let Trayvon Martin’s killer walk free. How much longer will the large corporations behind ALEC harm the communities in which they do business by funding the group’s reckless agenda?

Thanks for an insightful article.
I lived in one of those nice but pretentious gated communities in Florida. I had a crazy racist neighbor show up with a gun at my door late one night because our pool filter was making too much noise. I warned some solicitors that they should be careful how they approached some of the houses...as they could be shot and killed before questions are asked. They did not believe me. Now I hope they do! Lobbyismus: Mit Gesetzen gegen das linke Amerika | ZEIT ONLINE | 09.09.2011
http://www.zeit.de/politik/ausland/2011-09/usa-lobby-alec

Mitgliederlisten. Insgesamt 300 Großkonzerne gehören Alec demnach an, darunter

Stand Your Ground Under the Radar: Florida Man Goes ‘George Zimmerman’ on Black Teen; Claims Stand Your Ground

    Published by 1-800-Politicson May 3, 2013

"A Florida man asked a group of teens at a gas station to turn down the loud music blaring from their car and, after an exchange of words, opened fire on the vehicle, killing a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.
Michael Dunn, 45, of Satellite Beach, has been charged with murder for the Friday slaying of Jordan Davis, 17, a black high school student from the Jacksonville area.
His lawyer said Dunn, who is white, thought he saw a gun and felt threatened during the incident, indicating that he may seek protection under the state’s controversial Stand Your Ground Law, according to local reports."

Black women can be the most clueless, rude and self serving animals on the planet. They think the world owes them. They are also famous for when crossing a parking lot at a supermarket, they never look. They just saunter out there, expecting everyone to stop. That's when I want to hit the gas.

Politik (so z.

Februar 2012 in Sanford nahe Orlando (Florida) erschossen.

As part of the email exchange, Santiago writes that Zimmerman "is a Sandy Hook, Aurora waiting to happen..."
In his 17-point reply, Chief Bracknell writes "Your reference to Sandy Hook................ I agree."
The emails were published on the website, thinkprogress.org.
When contacted by the site for comment on his initial agreeance, Chief Bracknell distanced himself saying he was "referring to the fact that [Zimmerman] seems to be involved in incidents" involving firearms.

Trayvon Martin Anti-gun group study: In states with 'stand your ground' laws, justifiable homicide rates soar

    EDT, September 16, 2013
A new study by a coalition of gun-control groups, including Mayors Against Illegal Guns, found that in states that have
implemented "stand your ground" laws, the number of justifiable homicides has skyrocketed.
The rate is up 53 percent in 22 states, according to the study. In Florida, the average annual rate is up 200 percent. In states that do not have those laws, the rate has declined marginally.
The study, co-sponsored by the National Urban League and VoteVets.org, also concludes that the number of deaths of black people deemed to be justifiable in states with those laws has doubled.

      07/21/2013

      http://www.montereyherald.com/ci_23703493/letters-zimmerman-trial-illustrates-embedded-racism

"We would like to believe the Trayvon Martin case was conducted appropriately and accept it, but it isn't so.
From the beginning, no one questioned actions or untruths of George Zimmerman.
One juror said that because he was afraid, he had the right to shoot after he ran down Martin. Does that mean anyone we fear we can kill?
No one asked if Martin lived nearby, thought about his fear or seemed to care he was dead. The prosecution was weak and facts were distorted.
This illustrates embedded racism and the collective manipulation,
conscious or unconscious, of the trial process to yield a particular
      result.
An all-woman jury could mean no real experience fighting. In states with stand your ground laws, 30 percent of whites shooting blacks are exonerated; 3 percent of blacks shooting whites are exonerated.
Young African American men have a one-in-three chance of going to prison, with loss of voting rights, work opportunities, relationships, all of it. But hey, all those letters say we have a black president, so what's up? We had a woman secretary of state, yet we still have violent sexism and racism.
      The argument ignores reality."

Louisiana is the worst state for women according to new report
Eric Pfeiffer, Yahoo! News 6 hours ago

A new study finds Louisiana is the most challenging state for working women in America. (AFP)
A report says that in America, Louisiana is the worst state for women to live and work in.
The Center for American Progress released the findings in a new interactive map, combining and comparing data on topics including the wage gap between men and women, poverty rates, paid family leave laws, the percentage of women without health insurance in each state and infant mortality rates.
Interestingly, the data also expanded to include factors outside of income and personal health, looking at how women fare in positions of power. For example, the study also compared the percentage of women in Congress in each state and the number of women elected to statewide executive office.
Overall, the study contained 36 separate factors, including looking at how several of the above-mentioned categories applied to minorities.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Maryland was voted as the best state for women to live and work in.
“More than 22 percent of women in Louisiana are in poverty, compared to 11 percent of women in Maryland,” reads the report’s summary. “Additionally, taking in all of the leadership factors considered, Maryland ranks first in the nation in terms of women reaching leadership positions in the public and private sector. Meanwhile, Louisiana receives a D- on overall leadership factors.”Looking at some other states in the survey, Hawaii, Vermont, California and Delaware rounded out the top five states for women.
Meanwhile, Utah, Oklahoma, Alabama and Mississippi rounded out the bottom five.
West Virginia ended up right in the middle of the survey, ranking 25th overall. ...Back in June, a similar study was released looking at the best and worst states
for children. In that study, New Mexico was cited as the worst state for children’s issues while New Hampshire was named the best state to raise a child.
In that study, Louisiana was rated the fourth worst state for children.

George Zimmerman's Biggest Defender: A Racist With a Criminal Past
Frank Taaffe, Zimmerman's unofficial media emissary, is a convicted criminal who recently appeared on The White Voice, a virulently racist podcast.
    By Mariah Blake
    on Mother Jones
    Aug. 8, 2013

"In April 2012, two days before George Zimmerman was arrested for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, he huddled with a fellow neighborhood watch volunteer, Frank Taaffe. [...]
Taaffe emerged as his most visible and outspoken defender. He gave
hundreds of interviews to media outlets, ranging from the New York Times to Fox News to CNN, and made near-daily appearances on cable news shows during Zimmerman's trial.
Taaffe used this platform to cast Martin as a drug-addled hoodlum and Zimmerman as a community-minded do-gooder ("the best neighbor you would want to have") who had every reason to suspect the black teen was up to mischief. He also railed against Zimmerman's critics, whom he accused of staging a witch hunt. "It's really sad that he has already been convicted in the public media and has already been sentenced to the gas chamber," he lamented in an interview with NBC's Miami affiliate last year.
Taaffe was hardly the ideal person to be weighing in on a case suffused with racial angst—or commenting on criminal-justice matters, period. A Mother Jones investigation has found that the 56-year-old New York native has a lengthy criminal record that includes charges of domestic violence and burglary, and a history of airing virulently racist views. Just last Sunday, he appeared on The White Voice, a weekly podcast hosted by a man named Joe Adams, who has deep, long-standing ties to white-power groups and has authored a manual called Save The White People Handbook. (Sample quote: "A mutt makes a great pet and a mulatto makes a great slave.")
During a previous White Voice appearance, on July 27, Taaffe argued that whites and blacks have no business mingling. ("They don't want to be with us and we don't want to be with them.") Taaffe also opined that if Zimmerman had racially profiled Martin, he was justified in doing so because "young black males" had burglarized homes in their neighborhood. "What if I—a middle-aged white man—wore
a hoodie and went through Trayvon Martin's neighborhood?" he asked defiantly.
Adams replied that "no sane white person" would dare walk down their "local Marcus Garvey Boulevard."
"I'd only be there for one or two things," Taaffe shot back. "And I'm sure the vice squad would want to be interested in that."
"This trial is waking up white America, man," Taaffe told The White Voice. [...]
By the end of the show, Taaffe was so worked up that he was calling for a
revolution. "This trial is waking up white America, man," he said. "I'm fed up with the bullshit and the glad-handing to this one group of people who now control what we do and say. Come on, man, wake up America!"
Taaffe's private Twitter feed (@pinsones) also reeks of racial animus. In one tweet, he bashed Michael Skolnik, who directs hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons' political operations, saying "how much nigga cock do u suck an one day or maybe u like it pounded up ur hebe ass." In another he wrote, "the only time a black life is validated is when a white person kills them."
The White Voice is selling Frank Taaffe T-shirts.

  18. Rap imagery, Trayvon Martin and why Bill O’Reilly is half right
    Opinion
    by Ama Yawson | August 8, 2013

"... The large numbers of African-Americans convicted of drug crimes has given birth to an under-caste of darker-skinned Americans who are often discriminated against with respect to voting, housing, employment and much more. Further, because the rate of HIV among people in prison is five to seven times higher than the general population, the mass incarceration of African-Americans has contributed to a major health crisis in the black community.

Unfortunately, even for those African-American males who do not find themselves on the wrong side of the law, prospects are not so rosy. A 2008 Princeton University experiment in which white men and black men were sent out to look for jobs with identical resumes and, in a few cases, phony criminal records, revealed the following. The experiments were conducted in Milwaukee, WI and New York City.

“Among those with no criminal record, white applicants were more than twice as likely to receive a callback relative to equally qualified black applicants. Even more troubling, whites with a felony conviction fared just as well, if not better, than a black applicant with a clean background,” the authors of the study report. “The young black men posing as job applicants in this study were bright college kids, models of discipline and hard work; and yet, even in this best case scenario, these applicants were routinely overlooked simply on the basis of the color of their skin. The results of this study suggest that black men must work at least twice as hard as equally qualified whites simply to overcome the stigma of their skin color. ...”

    1. "Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman’s lead defense attorney, also used images of Trayvon that appeared to dovetail with a “thug” image to characterize Martin as dangerous. These were mere pictures, rather than substantial evidence based on the actual character of the deceased teen. Deflecting focusing from the kindness evidenced by Trayvon’s treatment of his friend Rachel Jeantel, O’Mara showed the jury blown-up images of Trayvon shirtless, in a baseball cap, and brought up evidence suggesting that he had used drugs — all tropes from popular rap.

The strategy appears to have worked. Zimmerman was acquitted of charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter, and one juror said that she would actually feel comfortable having Zimmerman on her neighborhood watch, presumably to protect her from the dangers posed by certain black boys and men."

    Published: Jul 08, 2013 4:53 PM EDT

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) - Trayvon Martin's father testified Monday that he never denied it was his son's voice screaming for help on a 911 call, contradicting police officers' earlier testimony at George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial.

Tracy Martin said that he merely told officers he couldn't tell if it was his son after his first time listening to the call.

"I never said that wasn't my son's voice," said Tracy Martin, who added that he concluded it was his son after listening to the call as many as 20 times.

Tracy Martin's testimony came after the lead investigator probing Martin's death testified that the father had answered "no" when the detective asked if the screams belonged to Trayvon Martin. Officer Chris Serino played the 911 call for Tracy Martin in the days immediately following Trayvon Martin's death in February 2012.

  20. Charles Manson wanted to blame crimes on African Americans to spark race war.

"[Charles] Manson has been in prison for more than four decades after the 1969 killings, which included the brutal murder of director Roman Polanski's actress wife, Sharon Tate, who was eight-and-a-half months pregnant. [...]
[26-year-old Afton Elaine] Burton, who also calls herself "Star," said last year that she and Manson were madly in love and already consider themselves married.
"I'm completely with him, and he's completely with me. It's what I was born for, you know. I don't know what else to say," she told CNN in August of the now gray-haired killer, who has a swastika tattooed on his forehead.
Manson headed an apocalyptic cult that committed murders in upscale, mostly white neighborhoods of Los Angeles in order to blame the crimes on African Americans, in the hope of sparking what he termed a "Helter Skelter" race war."

All of those killed by the gunman, identified as Joseph Aldridge, 36, lived within a few miles of each other in the tiny community of Tyrone, an unincorporated area with a population of about 50, authorities said. [...]

The events, which police said were spread over six crime scenes, began unfolding around 10 p.m. on Thursday when a girl called 911 from a neighbor's home.

A man who declined to be identified told a Reuters photographer that a teenaged girl in a nightgown came to his house, running barefoot through a snowy wooded area and crying that her parents had been shot. She called police and deputies found her parents dead at their home.

Authorities said they later discovered five other people dead and a wounded woman in three other houses. The woman, who is expected to recover, gave them information about the shooter, Texas County Sheriff James Sigman said.

Four of the victims were identified as Garold Aldridge, 52, his wife Julie Aldridge, 47, Harold Aldridge, 50, and his wife Janell Aldridge, 48. The names of the other victims were not released.

There was no sign of forced entry in any of the houses, Sigman said, adding that the killings had shattered a sense of safety in the town. "Start locking your doors. The world is changing. You got to be safe," he said. [...]

Joseph Aldridge's body was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a pickup truck parked on a highway in nearby Shannon County, authorities said. Sigman said Aldridge had a minor criminal history.

Tyrone is about 160 miles southwest of St. Louis, near the Mark Twain National Forest, and attracts hunters, campers, and river rafters. Texas County where Tyrone is located has a population of roughly 24,000 people. [...]

  22. Official: US report finds racial bias in Ferguson police
    Associated Press
    By ERIC TUCKER

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Justice Department investigation will allege sweeping patterns of discrimination within the Ferguson, Missouri, police department and at the municipal jail and court, a law enforcement official familiar with the report said Tuesday.

The report, which could be released as soon as Wednesday, will charge that police disproportionately use excessive force against blacks and that black drivers are stopped and searched far more often than white motorists, even though they're less likely to be carrying contraband.

The Justice Department also found that blacks were 68 percent less likely than others to have their cases dismissed by a municipal court judge, and that from April to September of last year, 95 percent of people kept at the city jail for more than two days were black, according to the official. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to speak on the record before the report is made public.

The Justice Department began the civil rights investigation following the August shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, by a white police officer. That killing set off weeks of protests.

The official says the report will allege direct evidence of racial bias among police officers and court workers and detail a criminal justice system that prioritizes generating revenue over public safety.

Among the findings of the report was a racially tinged 2008 message in a municipal email account stating that President Barack Obama would not be president for very long because "what black man holds a steady job for four years."

The department has conducted roughly 20 broad civil rights investigations of police departments during the tenure of Attorney General Eric Holder, including Cleveland, Newark, New Jersey and Albuquerque. Most of those investigations end with the police department agreeing to changes its practices.

Riefenstahl was a fanatic Nazi and great friend of Hitler’s. She was therefore appointed to make a film about the Nazi rise to power in Germany. Although the rules and bylaws of the International Olympic Committee prohibited discrimination on the basis of religion, race, sex, ethnicity, etc., the Nazi organizers of the games would not allow Jews to participate. This led to a boycott movement in the United States, in that many non-Jewish Americans would not accede to the Nazi demands that no Jews participate.

However, Avery Brundage, the chairman of the American Olympic Committee, opposed any boycott of Germany on the grounds that there was a Jewish-Communist conspiracy to keep the United States out of the 1936 Olympics. Brundage had been elected to the committee because his predecessor, Ernest Lee Jahncke, former assistant secretary of the U.S. Navy, demanded that the U.S. boycott the Nazi Olympics. Jahncke was a Protestant and son of German immigrants.

Pace of death sentences, executions slows in Virginia
    Associated Press
    By LARRY O'DELL

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A prosecutor's decision not to seek a death penalty for the man accused of abducting and killing a University of Virginia student is emblematic of capital punishment's decline across the country and in the state that once operated one of the busiest execution chambers in the nation. ...

Legal experts say there are many reasons for the deceleration of the death penalty in Virginia, but perhaps the biggest is the establishment in 2004 of four regional capital defender offices staffed by attorneys and investigators who devote all their time to death penalty cases.

"In the past, an awful lot of people who ended up on death row had abysmal representation," said Steve Northup, a lawyer and former executive director of Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. "Prosecutors were able to take advantage. Now prosecutors know capital defendants are going to be well represented."

It's no coincidence, experts suggest, that the sharp downturn in death sentences began the year the capital defender offices opened. The year before, Virginia sent six people to death row. No more than two death sentences have been imposed in any year since. ...

The trend has not escaped the notice of New York Law School professor Robert Blecker, one of the nation's most outspoken capital punishment supporters.

"I'd like to think it has to do with prosecutors becoming more discriminating and not going for death on every death-eligible crime, only going for it for the worst of the worst of the worst," Blecker said.

The wishes of the victim's family and the huge amount of time and money required to pursue a death penalty are other factors to consider, Dinwiddie County Commonwealth's Attorney Ann Cabell Baskervill said, although neither concern is dispositive. Baskervill is seeking the death penalty for Russell E. Brown II, who is charged in the shooting death of Virginia State Trooper Junius A. Walker. ...

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A white man opened fire during a prayer meeting inside a historic black church in downtown Charleston on Wednesday night, killing nine people in an assault that authorities described as a hate crime. The shooter remained at large Thursday morning.

Police Chief Greg Mullen said he believed the attack at the Emanuel AME Church was a hate crime, and police were looking for a white male in his early 20s. Mullen said the scene was chaotic when police arrived, and the officers thought they had the suspect tracked with a police dog, but he got away.

"We will put all effort, we will put all resources and we will put all of our energy into finding this individual who committed this crime tonight," he said.

Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley called the shooting "the most unspeakable and heartbreaking tragedy."

"The only reason that someone could walk into a church and shoot people praying is out of hate," Riley said. "It is the most dastardly act that one could possibly imagine, and we will bring that person to justice. ... This is one hateful person."

The attack came two months after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man, Walter Scott, by a white police officer in neighboring North Charleston that sparked major protests and highlighted racial tensions in the area. The officer has been charged with murder, and prompted South Carolina lawmakers to push through a bill helping all police agencies in the state get body cameras.

The church's current pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, was a sponsor of that bill.

In a statement, Gov. Nikki Haley asked South Carolinians to pray for the victims and their families and decried violence at places of worship. ...

Even before Scott's shooting in April, Cason said he had been part of a group meeting with police and local leaders to try to shore up relations.

The Emmanuel AME church is a historic African-American church that traces its roots to 1816, when several churches split from Charleston's Methodist Episcopal church.

One of its founders, Denmark Vesey, tried to organize a slave revolt in 1822. He was caught, and white landowners had his church burned in revenge. Parishioners worshipped underground until after the Civil War. ...

Everything Known About Charleston Shooting Suspect Dylann Roof

The man accused of killing nine inside a black church wore pro-apartheid flags, held ‘strong conservative beliefs,’ and made a ‘lot of racist jokes.’

Police said they have arrested Dylann Storm Roof, the suspected killer of nine people at an historic black church in Charleston. Roof, 21, is from Lexington, South Carolina, and was taken into custody in Shelby, North Carolina. At a press conference, Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen said a citizen’s tip led police to Roof’s car. He would not comment on whether weapons were found in the vehicle, but said Roof was “cooperative.” ...

A sparse Facebook page shows an image of Roof in a jacket with the flags of apartheid-era South Africa and Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). ...

Another Facebook photo of Roof sitting on the roof of his car shows an ornamental license plate with a Confederate flag on it. Charleston police say the South Carolina license plate is LGF 330.

MASS PROTEST should be the response

Europe responded with mass protests in response to the Charlie Hebdo massacre. Why should it be any different for this terrorist attack in SC?! I don't care if Dylann Roof is just another mentally ill shooter or not: he got his racism from his friends and relatives and from Fox News. THEY are who we are protesting as much as the terrorist.

It is time once and for all to shame these fascist, racist pigs. Fox news should face millions of protesters at their headquarters in NY. NYC and Washington DC should get shut down. Southern states should face civil disobedience and ongoing protest because they are silent while their racist base propagates this evil.
It is time to show these 3% militia cowards that they face the 97%.

    5. Charleston Church Shooting: KKK, White Supremacists Operate in South Carolina
      by Alastair Jamieson
      Today

South Carolina is home to 19 known hate groups — including two factions of the Ku Klux Klan and four "white nationalist" organizations, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. ...

The SPLC's database records the distribution of KKK leaflets in a Seneca neighborhood was among four hate crimes committed in the state last year.

More than a dozen of the groups listed are explicitly based on racial hatred — perhaps a reflection of local history in a corner of the U.S. where the Confederate flag still flies in the grounds of the State House.

Six neo-Confederate groups listed by the SPLC include two branches of the League of the South, which advocates for Southern secession and "the advancement of Anglo-Celtic culture." Its website states: "If you call us racists, our response will be 'So what?'"

Among the White Nationalist groups active in the state is the Council of Conservative Citizens, which is opposed to racial integration and affirmative action "and similar measures to destroy or denigrate the European-American heritage, including the heritage of the Southern people."

Formed in response to the desegregation of schools in the 1950s and 1960s, its key figures include Kyle Rogers. He was quoted by Charleston's Post and Courier newspaper in 2012 as saying that African Americans "are the most privileged members of their race." ...

Other hate groups listed by the SPLC include three neo-Nazi cells, a chapter of the racist skinhead movement Confederate Hammerskins, a branch of black separatist organization Nation of Islam, an "anti-gay" church and an anti-immigration protest group called Americans Have Had Enough.

In the Seneca incident in July 2014, residents in Oconee County reportedly found bags in their street containing candy and a leaflet with the message "Save Our Land, Join the Klan." It had a phone number that led to an automated message discussing KKK efforts against illegal immigration.

In the same month, a KKK rally was held in Abbeville, according to NBC station WYFF.

South Carolina last year elected Senator Tim Scott, the first African-American voted into the U.S. Senate from the South since the post-Civil War era of Reconstruction.

South Carolina is one of only five states that does not have a hate crimes law, according to campaign group SC Equality, although a recent extension of federal law means there are legal protections for victims of hate crimes in all states.

  28. The Confederate Flag Isn't Budging From South Carolina's Capitol -- Because It's Protected Under State Law

The morning after nine people were shot to death Wednesday inside a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, flowers were laid, black cloth was draped and flags at the state's Capitol building were lowered to half-staff.

    Except one.

The fact that the Confederate flag was waving high in the state capital of Columbia hours after suspected gunman Dylann Roof carried out what's believed to be a racially motivated attack sparked outrage.

"It's up there," Will Whitson, a Columbia-based state reporter for Raycom Media, told The Huffington Post Thursday afternoon. "One thing is, I don’t think the flag is on a pulley -- so even if they wanted to put it at half-staff, they couldn’t. And to remove it from the grounds would require a legislative vote."

A large Confederate flag used to fly over the Capitol dome, along with the American flag and the South Carolina flag, but was removed in 2000. However, a smaller version of the flag still flies on statehouse grounds, next to the Confederate Soldier's Monument. ...

    1. Twitter users Thursday urged people to call Gov. Nikki Haley (R) and demand the flag be removed. By law, however, the flag can't be moved.

The Confederate flag's presence on the statehouse grounds remains legally protected under the 2000 South Carolina Heritage Act, which also stipulates that streets, parks and other public areas named for historical figures may not be renamed without a two-thirds vote from the state General Assembly.

"I think there is a divide about people's perceptions and understanding of what a Confederate battle flag is," Sheheen told HuffPost. "To some people, it truly is about heritage. To others, it is about racial oppression. To me, regardless of which understanding you have about it, it’s still something that divides us."

He said "there are good people on both sides of the issue," adding that the debate about the flag should not be about declaring a right and wrong side but rather about finding a way to unify a state with a "raw history of racism."

"I don’t say 'get rid of [the flag],' because it is a part of our history. But do you want to fly a symbol that’s divisive on our front steps of the state house?" Sheheen said. "Let’s put it in a place where we can tell its story, and thousands of people can see it in a more appropriate place."

Sheheen has been calling for the flag's removal since last year, though Charleston newspaper The State notes challenging the flag is a politically poisonous move.

"If you touch it, you usually die politically," Scott Buchanan, a political science professor at The Citadel, told Charleston newspaper The State in 2014 about the risk of broaching the flag removal question. Sheheen, who made the flag's removal a key part of his gubernatorial campaign, lost to Haley in 2014.

Among the reasons Haley gave to keep the flag on statehouse grounds was that it hasn't hurt South Carolina's ability to attract or retain business.

"What I can tell you is over the last three and a half years, I spent a lot of my days on the phones with CEOs and recruiting jobs to this state," Haley said during a 2014 debate. "I can honestly say I have not had one conversation with a single CEO about the Confederate flag."

Thursday morning, several lawmakers reportedly removed another controversial flag they used to decorate their desks. They took down their Gadsden flags -- which portrays a coiled snake and a "Don't Tread On Me" slogan that some view as a pro-Confederacy symbol -- from their statehouse desks out of respect for Rev. State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, who was among the victims of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church shooting.

Flagge der Konföderierten Staaten von Amerika

(Bild:) Die letzte offizielle Nationalflagge der Konföderierten Staaten von Amerika (Blood-Stained Banner)

Die Konföderierten Staaten von Amerika (Confederate States of America CSA) hatten nacheinander sechs verschiedene Nationalflaggen, die nach ihren Motiven als „Stars and Bars“ (Sterne und Balken), „Stainless Banner“ (Makelloses Banner) und „Blood-Stained Banner“ (Blutbeflecktes Banner) bezeichnet werden. Die vier anfänglichen „Stars and Bars“-Flaggen orientierten sich in ihrem Motiven an den „Stars and Stripes“-(Sterne und Streifen)-Flaggen der Vereinigten Staaten. ...

A Republican House member made an emotional appeal to bring down the Confederate flag from the South Carolina Statehouse, saying anything less is an insult to the family of a slain Charleston legislator. (July 8)

      .
Following a contentious debate that lasted more than 13 hours, the South Carolina House voted in the wee hours of Thursday to approve a bill calling for the removal of the Confederate flag from the Statehouse grounds. But it was a fiery four-minute speech by Rep. Jenny Horne, a Republican state representative and descendant of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, that is being credited with moving her fellow lawmakers to agree to take it down.

“I cannot believe that we do not have the heart in this body to do something meaningful, such as take a symbol of hate off these grounds on Friday!” Horne shouted through tears from the House floor.

The debate came just weeks after the shootings at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., where nine black church members, including S.C. State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, were killed during a Bible study session. The alleged gunman, Dylann Roof, was seen waving Confederate flags in photos posted to social media before the rampage.

“For the widow of Sen. Pinckney and his two young daughters, that would be adding insult to injury, and I will not be a part of it!” Horne, a 42-year-old lawyer from Summerville, exhorted, her voice breaking.

  30. Texas mom who was denied food stamps shoots children, kills self at welfare office

Woman commits suicide after police standoff; daughter updated Facebook to say 'may die 2day'

    BY Philip Caulfield /
    NEW YORK DAILY NEWS /
    Wednesday, December 7, 2011

A Texas mother who was desperate over being denied food stamps shot her two children and then committed suicide after a seven-hour standoff with SWAT teams at a state welfare office, authorities said.

Ramie Grimmer, 12, and her brother Timothy, 10, were clinging to life at a San Antonio hospital after Monday night's horrific ordeal, during which Ramie apparently updated her Facebook page to say "may die 2day."

The chilling incident began about 5 p.m. Monday when Rachelle Grimmer, 38, visited a state welfare office in Laredo to discuss a food stamp application she had submitted in July, police said.

Caseworkers took Grimmer to a private room, where the distraught mom pulled a gun and threatened employees, authorities said.

Police negotiators spent the next several hours trying to persuade Grimmer to bring her children out safely, but she refused, instead haranguing them about the red tape she grappled with while trying to feed her family, The Associated Press reported.

At one point, Ramie Grimmer posted an update on Facebook that said "tear gas " — an apparent reference to tear gas being fired at the building.

Finally, just before midnight, cops heard three shots and stormed the building, where they discovered Grimmer lying dead in a pool of blood.

Her children were nearby, unconscious and bleeding from gunshot wounds. ...

Authorities told the AP that Grimmer was denied food stamps because she had left some key information out of her initial application.

She and her children had recently moved to Texas from Ohio and appeared to be struggling to say on their feet.

“She was dealing with a lot of issues," Health and Human Services spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman told the AP.

Grimmer had last contacted the agency in mid-November, but had fallen out of touch since then, Goodman said.

  35. Police Chief ‘Compared Black People To Monkeys’ After Racism Complaint
    TODAY

A police chief has resigned after reports stated that he compared black people to monkeys following the arrest of black woman.
Police Chief Marvin Hoover is said to have imitated a monkey when officers told him that the woman they arrested had threatened to sue them for discrimination.
An official report into the incident alleges that Hoover “beat his chest like Tarzan” after decsribing the woman as “an animal”.
The officers in Clatskanie, Oregon, filed a complaint that has resulted in Hoover, 56, resigning from his post.
Officer Dustin Stone said in his complaint, that was seen by U.S. station KOIN 6: “I relayed several of the arrestee’s remarks such as, ‘When you look at me, my black and my nappy hair, all you see is animal.’
“Chief Hoover interrupted me and said, ‘That’s what she is.’”
Hoover then apparently began acting like a monkey, placing his hands under his armpits and scratching them and making monkey noises, according to Officer Stone.
He added: “As Chief Hoover was comparing African-Americans to monkeys, I began to become extremely uncomfortable.
“I have never been in a work environment where a manager, especially an executive officer, is openly racist.”
After being placed on paid leave at the end of August, Hoover has now resigned - and Clatskanie Mayor Diane Pohl paid tribute to him in a public letter.
She wrote: “Thanks Chief Hoover for a job well done.
“You have this community’s gratitude, gratefulness and appreciation.
“Enjoy your retirement knowing we will miss you and wish you all the best.” ...

  39. Black women booted from Napa Valley wine train file lawsuit
    Associated Press

    By SUDHIN THANAWALA, Associated Press
    Oct. 01, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO — A group of mostly black women filed a racial discrimination lawsuit Thursday after they were removed from a train that tours Napa Valley wineries, saying it was humiliating to be thrown off a rail car when loud and inebriated white passengers were allowed to stay. ...

The women said many of them were part of a book club that meets regularly and had gathered on the train to discuss a romance novel. Before the train left the station in Napa, a train employee asked them to quiet down because they were offending other passengers, they said.

The same employee admonished them a second time before telling them that police officers would be waiting for them when the train reached St. Helena, the suit says. They were escorted through several cars as other passengers stared and then off the train and into a dirt lot where police were waiting, according to the suit.

"That was the most humiliating experience that I have ever had in my entire life," Lisa Johnson, 47, said with tears in her eyes, appearing with some of the other women at a news conference announcing the lawsuit. "This is 2015, and this just cannot happen again." ...

The lawsuit also claims the women were defamed by a company statement saying they had been verbally and physically abusive. ...

Katherine Neal, 85, the oldest woman in the group, said she was reminded of when she was about 12 and a store clerk asked her to eat her ice cream outside while white families ate inside.

"I took this case because it's an egregious case," said the women's attorney, Waukeen McCoy. "This lawsuit highlights that blacks are still being treated differently in America." ...

Considering the large amount of money that Zimmerman and his family had to pay attorneys to defend him in court against a misguided, overzealous, politically-motivated prosecution, I have no problem with offsetting some of those expenses through the sale of this gun. In a completely fair and rational world, Zimmerman would receive a reward for having performed a public service by removing a violent criminal from the community, thereby sparing future victims and saving the state the cost of future incarcerations.

Teenager Tyree King was taken to hospital in Columbus where he died just after 8pm on Wednesday evening. ...
“One officer shot and struck the suspect multiple times.” Police said what they thought was a gun being drawn from the child's waistband was actually a BB gun - a type of air gun that shoots steel pellets - with an attached laser sight.

I had white friends too but I grew up in the ghetto, so it is what it is. Now on to my point. I have friends that went to jail all the time for doing nothing but smoking weed or having weed on them. These friends were my non white friends. My white friends almost never went to jail when they were caught with weed. Normally the cop would take the weed then let them go with no charges. I've seen this play out more times then I can remember. Later in life some of my non white friends have a hard time getting jobs that pay well due to the fact they have drug charges on their record. While my white friends are mostly in high paying jobs now. If you didn't know shit like this really happened in America then just let me say this to you.... Don't be stupid.... Just because you haven't seen something, or experienced something doesn't mean it isn't real or that it doesn't exist. How many of us have actually been in a submarine before? ·WIGGINS, Miss. — Oct 25, 2016

Stone High School's football team was making a name for itself as the Tomcats turned around years of mediocrity with a winning season under the school's first-year coach.

But now the south Mississippi school's football program is known for something else — a black junior varsity player who says as many as four white students put a noose around his neck during an Oct. 13 football practice.

At a Monday news conference, the Mississippi NAACP demanded a federal hate crime investigation.

"No child should be walking down the hall or in a locker room and be accosted with a noose around their neck," state NAACP President Derrick Johnson said during a news conference in Wiggins. "This is 2016, not 1916. This is America. This is a place where children should go to school and feel safe in their environment."

Carissa Bolden of Wiggins, the mother of a middle school student, attended the NAACP news conference Monday and said white students have been flying the Mississippi flag from their vehicles. The upper left corner of the state flag used since 1894 has the Confederate battle emblem — a red field topped by a blue X with 13 white stars. Bolden said she sees a connection between the flag and the noose incident.

  49. A white officer said she was shot by a black man. Then her story started to unravel.
    By Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
    September 26, 2016

Just after midnight Sept. 13, Officer Sherry Hall radioed for help. She had just been injured in a gun battle with a man in a cul-de-sac in Jackson, Ga. He was 250 pounds, she said, mentally disturbed — and black.

Without warning, Hall said, the man stood up and fired his gun, shooting a round into her bullet-resistant vest. As she took cover, she said, he ran away.

It was, seemingly, another unprovoked attack on a law enforcement officer in a summer full of them. In July, officers were targeted and killed in Dallas. A week later, it happened again in Baton Rouge. The shooters claimed the bloodshed was retaliation for the killing of black men by white law enforcement officers. ...

Hall stoked the fear during an interview with a local CBS affiliate.

“For him to have such a disregard to human life really angers me and upsets me,” she said amid a manhunt for the man she had described. “If he’ll do this to an officer, how much more will he do to a citizen on the street.” ...

Shortly after, though, Hall’s story began to unravel.

During three interviews, she told investigators that she didn’t turn on her patrol cruiser’s dash cam or audio recording device, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

But investigators pored over the equipment — even reaching out to the manufacturer — and recovered video and audio from a hard drive.

They discovered numerous inconsistencies, including some with the physical evidence in the case. ...

Police haven’t said whether they believe Hall shot herself with the second gun, and they haven’t said what they believe motivated her. But they have said they weren’t looking for any suspects, and the city’s mayor called the incident a “ruse.”

On Sept. 23, the GBI obtained arrest warrants for Hall. She’s accused of making false statements, tampering with evidence, interfering with government property and violating her oath of office. ..

  50. ... Versace is coming under fire for a racist practice that one former employee claims he was taught to abide by when he was hired at a Versace retail store in Pleasanton, Calif.

The former clerk is suing Versace over racial profiling, according to Women’s Wear Daily. In a confidential moment while being trained for his new role, Christopher Sampiro, 23, was told about the D410 Code. The code is meant to be used while ringing up black clothing at the register, but Versace allegedly also asks its workers to speak the code aloud “in a casual manner” to warn colleagues that a black person has entered the store.

It just so happens that Sampiro is a quarter African-American, a detail his employers did not know until he made them aware of it. And soon after he did, he was fired. Now the former employee has filed a 30-page lawsuit against Versace, according to the Huffington Post. In it, he claims he was told he was fired because “he didn’t understand luxury” and didn’t know “the luxury life,” according to the New York Daily News. But the timing was too coincidental: just weeks after he was hired in September and his revelation that he was biracial shortly thereafter. ...

According to International Business Times, “A recent Gallup poll suggests that African-Americans are more likely to feel discrimination at a store than when going to a restaurant, or dealing with police during a traffic incident.” The article details incidents of profiling in retail stores across the country, in which innocent shoppers who happen to be black are followed, harassed, and inappropriately accused of stealing even though they haven’t even left the store.

Some specific incidents the story highlights include a lawsuit filed by former store detectives against CVS, “alleging that loss prevention managers in New York City instructed them to track the movements of blacks and Hispanics more closely than other customers and routinely used racial slurs to describe shoppers.” The article states that, similar to Versace, employees at a Zara store used a code word to “identify and track” black customers. False arrests of customers of color were made at popular retailers like Hollister, Walgreens, Macy’s, and Barneys New York. ...

A 2013 Pew Research Center poll, revealed that 46 percent of black people reported unfair treatment in stores and restaurants, compared with only 16 percent of whites. According to the ACLU, racial profiling violates “the U.S. Constitution’s core promises of equal protection under the law to all and freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.” ...

    By Bob Egelko

Jamal Trulove accused four San Francisco police officers of framing him for a 2007 killing at the city’s Sunnydale public housing complex. An eight-member jury in Oakland heard three weeks of testimony and deliberated for two days before unanimously finding Friday that the two lead homicide inspectors on the case, Michael Johnson and Maureen D’Amico, had violated Trulove’s rights by fabricating evidence against him and withholding evidence that might have helped him. ...

In a ruling Feb. 27 that allowed the case to go to trial, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers cited evidence that Johnson, one of the inspectors, questioned the eyewitness shortly after the killing, pointed to a clipboard and asked, “Are you sure it wasn’t Jamal Trulove?” The witness replied that she didn’t know, the judge said.

Later, Gonzalez Rogers said, Inspector D’Amico showed the witness a single photo of Trulove rather than the usual police practice of presenting photos of different people and asking the witness to identify the perpetrator. Johnson, the judge said, showed the same witness a suggestive photo array consisting of Trulove and others she had already discounted as being the shooter. ...

During the trial in his damage suit, Trulove testified about his life in prison. Chatfield said he described “the fear from the time you get up ... the daily humiliation,” and the four years he spent without visits from his family because he was held in a remote location. ...

Teen Gets Decades In Prison For ‘Murder’ Of Someone Killed By A Cop

Lakeith Smith was convicted under Alabama’s accomplice liability law.
    By Hilary Hanson

A judge on Thursday sentenced an Alabama teenager to 65 years in prison for a series of crimes, including murder, even though a police officer was the one who actually killed the victim.

Lakeith Smith, now 18, was convicted under the state’s accomplice liability law in March. 56. Cops Arrest 2 Black Men Sitting In Starbucks For 'Trespassing': Video
    Hilary Hanson, HuffPost 4/14/2018

A video showing Philadelphia police officers handcuffing and removing two black men from a Starbucks store has gone viral and incited allegations of racism, but the police commissioner insists his officers did “absolutely nothing wrong.”

Author Melissa DePino tweeted a video on Thursday showing officers escorting two black men out of a Starbucks in Center City as bystanders questioned why the men were being arrested.

“The police were called because these men hadn’t ordered anything,” DePino wrote on Twitter. “They were waiting for a friend to show up, who did as they were taken out in handcuffs for doing nothing. All the other white ppl are wondering why it’s never happened to us when we do the same thing.”

DePino told local news outlet Billy Penn that the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and that a friend of hers shot the video.

The clip shows a man in a vest questioning why an arrest is taking place. Lauren A. Wimmer, defense attorney for the pair who was arrested, told BuzzFeed that the man in the vest is Andrew Yaffe, a friend who was meeting the men at Starbucks. She declined to give the names of her two clients.

“What did they get called for?” Yaffe asks an officer in the video. “’Cause there are two black guys sitting here meeting me?” ...

She had a concealed carry permit. The gun wasn’t even loaded. Now she’s facing two years in prison.

Last summer, a black woman in Michigan defended herself, her mother, and her 2-year-old daughter with a registered (and unloaded) gun against a woman who she and her attorneys say tried to hit them with a car. She was a concealed carry permit holder and living in an open carry state — one with a “stand your ground” law in place.

Now, Siwatu-Salama Ra is serving a two-year prison sentence at Huron Valley Correctional Facility for felonious assault and felony firearm convictions. She’s seven months pregnant, and according to her attorneys, she’s receiving insufficient medical care — including being shackled to her bed during a vaginal exam — even though her pregnancy is high-risk. The case is under appeal, but the judge deciding Ra’s fate, Thomas Hathaway, has already denied a request to postpone Ra’s sentence until she gives birth. ...

  58. U.S.
'Mourning While Black': Family, including dead woman, kicked out of church by priest
    Elise Solé, Yahoo Lifestyle
    July 3, 2018

The Archdiocese of Washington has apologized for kicking a black family out of their loved one’s funeral, prompting social media to respond with the hashtag #MourningWhileBlack.

“What occurred at St. Mary’s Parish this morning does not reflect the Catholic Church’s fundamental calling to respect and uplift the God-given dignity of every person nor does that incident represent the pastoral approach the priests of the Archdiocese of Washington commit to undertake every day in their ministry,” read the statement in part, according to Fox 5 DC.

On Tuesday, hundreds of people gathered at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlotte Hall, Maryland to say goodbye to 54-year-old Agnes Hicks, who lay in an open casket. However, when someone reached for a hug and accidentally knocked over the church’s chalice (a religious wine cup), Pastor Michael Briese reportedly erupted in anger.

“That’s when all hell broke loose,” Agnes’ daughter Shanice Chisely, told Fox 5 DC. “He literally got on the mic and said, ‘There will be no funeral, there will be no mass… everyone get the hell out of my church.’ He was disrespectful. He disrespected my family… my mother, he called my mother a ‘thing’ — he said, ‘Get this thing out of my church. Everyone get the hell out of my church.’ It was very sad and I have never seen anything like that before.” Agnes’ son Davon Chisely also told the news station he was “traumatized.”

As a little girl, Agnes was baptized at that very church, where she had long planned to hold her funeral.

In a cell phone video shot at the funeral, the pastor can be seen waving his hands mid-argument with the family. Shortly after, the family carried Hicks’ casket from the church where police, who Briese had reportedly called, were waiting. ...

91-year-old man beaten with brick, told 'go back to your own country'
    By Paul Vercammen, CNN

Tears glistened on the black and purple bruises covering 91-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez's face as he described being attacked by a group of people while going for a walk on the Fourth of July.

"I can't walk anymore," Rodriguez said in Spanish. "I'm in so much pain."

He'll be turning 92 in September, Rodriguez said, and he's never been hurt like this before, in a life working the fields with cattle and corn.

He had traveled from Michoacan, Mexico, to visit his family in Willowbrook, California, a city in Los Angeles County, his grandson Erik Mendoza said.

He makes the trip about twice a year, and takes a walk through the neighborhood every day after lunch, Mendoza said. "Everyone in the neighborhood knows him already," he said.

Rodriguez said he was walking to a nearby park on Wednesday when he passed a woman and a little girl. Without warning, the woman assaulted him, he said, hitting him with a concrete block and enlisting a group of men to join in beating him. ...

  62. Anne Hathaway has called on white people to address their "privilege" and "lack of action" following the death of black teenager Nia Wilson.

The Ocean's 8 actress railed against "white privilege" and questioned "how decent" white people really are, after 18-year-old Nia died when she and her sister Lahtifa, 26, were attacked by a white male on a subway train in Oakland, California on Sunday night (22Jul18).

Nia died from her injuries after she was allegedly stabbed in the neck by John Lee Cowell, 27.

In an emotional post on Instagram, the Oscar-winning actress urged white people to examine their responses when it comes to black murder victims.

"The murder of Nia Wilson- may she rest in the power and peace she was denied here- is unspeakable AND MUST NOT be met with silence," she wrote in a caption accompanying a picture of Nia on Instagram. "She is not a hash tag; she was a black woman and she was murdered in cold blood by a white man.”

"White people - including me, including you - must take into the marrow of our privileged bones the truth that ALL black people fear for their lives DAILY in America and have done so for GENERATIONS," she continued. “Given those givens, we must ask our (white)selves- how “decent” are we really? Not in our intent, but in our actions? In our lack of action? Peace and prayers and JUSTICE for Nia and the Wilson family xx."

Anne's post comes after Nia's death sparked criticism of police who have been accused of being slower to respond to and solve murders of black victims.
